What is a Facebook Dynamic Event and how can you use one?

What exactly are DYNAMIC EVENTS (and how you can profit from them)?

I think that you know by now what pixel events are: basically, they are pieces of code fired when something important happens on your site, telling Facebook about this actions.

A “default” event will be usually fired when a particular URL is loaded.

A Dynamic Event will be loaded when the visitor performs a particular action on your site.

This action can be:

  • a click on an internal or external link (like an affiliate link, for example)
  • a click on a button or other element, like a picture (this can be a newsletter signup button form, for example)
  • page scroll up to a defined percent
  • mouse over a page element (like a picture)

When the defined action is performed by a site visitor, it will fire the Dynamic Event.

How to use a Dynamic Event to increase your ads profitability

  1. Optimize your ads for a key action on your site (like a newsletter signup, or an affiliate link click)
  2. This way you will tell Facebook to send you people that are more likely to perform the desired action, considerably improving your campaign profitability.
  3. Create Custom Audiences based on important actions on your site.
  4. Imagine just for a second what this really means: you will create highly accurate audiences that you can laser-target with spot-on ads. This only leads to one thing: improved conversion rates. But that’s not all. You can also expand your reach by creating Lookalike Audiences based on the highly engaged dynamic events audiences.
